About This Programme
This programme combines Islamic law (Sharia) with civil law studies. At The Unity University, students learn Islamic jurisprudence alongside modern legal systems, preparing them to work in settings where both legal traditions apply, which is especially valuable in Somaliland’s legal context.
Students study the sources and principles of Islamic law, family and commercial law under Sharia, and how these interact with the civil legal system. This dual grounding prepares graduates to serve communities and institutions that draw on both legal traditions. Graduates are equipped for legal, religious, and community leadership roles.
