The unity university was founded on three core pillars:

a) Innovation

The University integrates technology-driven learning, and research incubation centers to encourage creativity and problem-solving.

b) Leadership

Leadership training is embedded in all programs, ensuring graduates are equipped not only with technical knowledge but also with ethical and transformational leadership skills.

c) Community Impact

Community service and social entrepreneurship projects are compulsory components of every academic program, reinforcing the University’s commitment to national and continental development.

Governance and Accreditation

TUU operates under a Board of Trustees composed of respected professionals from academia, industry, and civil society. The University is governed by:

  • The Chancellor
  • The Vice Chancellor
  • The University Council
  • The Senate

TUU and its programs are accredited by the National Commission on Higher Education of the Republic of Somaliland and adheres strictly to quality assurance standards in teaching, research, and administration.

Commitment to Research and Innovation

Although newly established, TUU has already launched:

  • A Center for Sustainable Development Studies
  • An Entrepreneurship and Innovation Hub
  • A Digital Transformation Research Unit

The University encourages interdisciplinary research addressing challenges such as climate change, youth unemployment, digital inclusion, governance, and financial sustainability.

The unity university was established with a bold mission to become a beacon of excellence and transformation in Africa. Though young, it is grounded in a strong vision, clear values, and an unwavering commitment to quality education and societal impact.

True to its motto, “What Begins Here Transforms Africa,” TUU stands ready to shape a new generation of African, leaders, and innovators who will redefine Africa’s future.
