About This Programme
The Bachelor of Development Studies looks at how countries and communities grow and improve people’s lives. At The Unity University, students learn about poverty reduction, economic growth, social change, and sustainable development, examining both the big global picture and the practical realities faced by communities in Somaliland.
The programme mixes development theory with real project examples, fieldwork exercises, and case studies from across Africa and the developing world. Students learn to ask why some communities struggle to develop while others succeed, and how well-designed projects, policies, and partnerships can make a lasting difference. By graduation, students can plan, monitor, and evaluate development work, making them valuable additions to government, NGO, or donor-funded teams.
